Javascript with Restraint

Please exercise restraint with Javascript. I, like many others, surf the web with dozens of tabs open to preserve my various trains of thought. Every extra snippet of javascript you use to populate static content or add CSS-friendly rollover affects accelerates the heat-death of my Firefox memory usage.
There are other great points about Accessibility, Degradation, and so forth around the web, but this is the pet peeve that’s causing me troubles at the moment.
Tasteful, elegant restraint. It’s also good for bright colors and cymbals- unless your website is meant to be a-rockin’.
